The existing School of Hard Knocks: A Father’s Complete Operating Manual supplied an already-audited thesis and field-tool architecture. This edition narrows the material to personal money, beginner earning power, long-horizon ownership, time, and freedom.

Teaching sources do not automatically verify current facts. This edition therefore excludes unsupported autobiography, famous-company figures, universal finance targets, detailed derivatives or trading instruction, product picks, and age-based salary or wealth quotas. It assumes no previous experience or technical skill.

All worked arithmetic was recomputed during publication. A correct formula can still produce a weak decision when assumptions or inputs are weak.

Professional handoff

Use an appropriately qualified and registered professional when a decision creates material legal, tax, investment, insurance, credit, employment, health, estate, ownership, or safety consequences. Record:

  • • the decision and the question asked;
  • • the person’s legal name and current registration or qualification where applicable;
  • • scope, fees, commissions, conflicts, and custody;
  • • documents reviewed;
  • • advice received and date;
  • • what remains your responsibility.

Registration reduces some risks. It does not guarantee competence, independence, performance, or a good fit.

Accessibility and format

The companion HTML uses semantic headings, descriptive links, table headers, row and column scope, and an en-IN language declaration. The PDF build requests PDF/UA tagging, embedded fonts, searchability, bookmarks, and physical page labels. Automated checks are a practical smoke test, not formal WCAG or PDF/ UA certification; manual assistive-technology testing may still reveal issues.
